Welcome to my blog!
In here, I will be outlining for you my top styling tips. These are the ones I personally use myself, and they have helped me choose the right clothes for my body shape. But, not only that, they also allow me to focus on investing in the right pieces when I go shopping.
Know your body type
My first tip, and the most important, is to recognise your body shape.
There are 5 main body types: Apple, Pear, Rectangle, Inverted Triangle and hourglass.
Wearing the right underwear is the foundation of your outfit. It will not only make you feel more comfortable and confident but, it will also make your outfit sit better.
Accessorise your outfits. Just by adding a beautiful pair of earrings or a statement necklace; a stylish handbag or a scarf, whether it is a cosy winter version of a lighter weight silky option, your outfit will be totally transformed. Accessories are the key to adding extra colour to your outfits. They complete the look.
Plan your outfit the night before
Take a look at what you have in your wardrobe. We all tend to wear on repeat the same five pieces, so avoid what is straight in front of you, and search a bit deeper inside your wardrobe. You will be surprised about how many pieces you have forgotten about.
Invest in timeless pieces
Now more than ever we should be conscious about what we buy and the impact that will have on our planet. Therefore, the best way to shop is to avoid all forms of fast fashion and only I invest in good quality pieces that are made through sustainable processes. There are now so many amazing brands that are supporting this cause.
An example of timeless pieces would be: a trench coat; a cashmere sweater; a silky blouse; a midi or maxi dress that can transcend the seasons by adding a lightweight polo neck underneath or a cardigan to throw on top in winter and pair of jeans that uses sustainable methods of production. Of course, there are so many other things you can add, but this is a good template to start with.
